  At 50+ years old, this is/was my first experience of having to help plan a funeral and working with a funeral home. But, Will and the folks at Hansen-Spear were absolutely wonderful! You couldn't ask for a more caring and professional group of people!
  
  They went way above and beyond anything I expected. Will made himself available all hours of the day and was very responsive to my wife's needs. Not only were Will and the staff wonderful, the actual facility and the chapel were great. Just the right size.
  
  Will did a tremendous job with the picture "show" and the DVD video of the actual funeral. Top notch professionals!
  
  Can't recommend them enough.

  My mother lived a significant portion of her life in Quincy, and had already purchased a plot in a local cemetery, there. So, planning her memorial services and burial from the other side of the country (California) made me a bit nervous, not having any prior experience planning a ceremony or taking care of anyone's final arrangements. Hansen-Spear's talented and communicative staff were sensitive, thorough, diligent and compassionate. They made sure that all the logistical issues were completed in a timely manner, yet, I always felt they were supportive and caring of our families needs and emotions at this sensitive juncture. Some people have specific talents and God-given gifts, and the Hansen & Spear families gifts are service and compassion. They were wonderful!

  As a GIVE BACK winner, I can attest to the huge impact Hansen-Spear is making in the lives of so many in our community. My classroom will be able to purchase high quality literature to expand my student's young minds and improve their reading skills. Without this funding, this would not be possible. The contest was also a great way for our school community to participate together in voting and spreading our good news to the community. In the past, I have enjoyed seeing charities from Horizons to Six String Heroes win; providing our community with resources for so many worthy projects and ministries. Hansen-Spear is truly dedicated to the quality of life in our community.

  Hansen Spear Funeral Home has 4 generations of experience & respected throughout our tri-states. What would make a difference in your choice? My family's experiences with Hansen Spear would have been with the most most recent 3 generations. I place a high value of Hansen Spear for having integrity & they are trustworthy. The first experience I personally saw this, would have been in the late 1960's. With the passing of one of our U S Veterans, The late Mr. George Spear, reached out to the boy's father & my Dad being with them that day, in ways, only a very qualified & sensitive F H director could do.
  The more recent would have been when my parents both were placed in the care of Hansen Spear, when they passed on. There was utmost sensitivity to my Mom & I with the passing on of my Dad. The same to me when my Mom passed on. Respect, understanding, professionalism, personal interest. Guiding me thru this grief stricken time with suggestions, the floral arrangements,, special touches with the video pictures prior to the service, honoring my thoughts & concerns. Sensitive to all our needs. The staff at the Funeral home extend this same level of respect toward the families & guests who attend visitations & services. Hansen Spear does not forget us once the time of need has passed. I particularly like the CHRISTMAS MEMORIAL SERVICE in early December. A special remembrance, honoring each person that they have served, is hung on a tree & a local Pastor gives a memorial service honoring the Celebration of Life of your loved ones.

  My family and I would like to extend a most sincere thank you to Hansen-Spear Funeral Home. It is never easy to say goodbye to someone you love but they took the utmost care in arranging my father's funeral, putting us at ease on what could have been a very stressful day. They were professional and courteous from beginning to end. I had never preplanned a funeral before, but their help, guidance and experience helped make my decisions easier. I was having my father transported from the Veteran's Home in Quincy to Peoria. Will Spear walked me through each step and told me what to expect. He was a Godsend, even taking care of things throughout the services at the cemetery arranging Military and Masonic Rites. I would highly recommend their services.
